# Darien Residential building code | BV360 Pre-Flight

Darien currently adopts the 2021 International Residential Code and 2021 International Building Code, with local amendments.

## Plain English

Residential one- and two-family dwellings use the 2021 IRC. The city also lists the 2024 IECC, 2020 NEC, 2024 IFC, and 2021 mechanical, plumbing, fuel gas, and property maintenance codes.
Local amendments in Title 4 modify the model codes; the 2018 amendment ordinance is historical.
