# Skokie Residential accessory buildings | BV360 Pre-Flight

Skokie regulates detached garages, sheds, and other accessory structures with separate height, coverage, and setback standards.

## Plain English

An accessory building is limited to one story and 15 feet overall, with an eave height of 10 feet. Its ground-floor area cannot exceed the principal building's ground-floor area.
Accessory buildings are prohibited in required front and side yards and within 60 feet of a front lot line. In a rear yard, they must be at least 3 feet from a lot line and 5 feet from an alley lot line, with additional corner/through-lot rules.
