Darien R-1 / R-2 / R-3 garage and alley setback

Darien limits where a detached garage and other accessory buildings can sit on a residence lot. Pre-Flight checks garage placement against the adopted yard requirements.

Plain English

Accessory buildings such as detached garages must observe the residence district's side and rear yards, and they count toward the district's total coverage cap.

Parking is not allowed in the required front yard or within five feet of the rear or side lot lines. The exact garage-to-alley setback is set out in the City's adopted code.
